Why Banking Apps Lose Users
Most mobile banking tools bury the basics behind cluttered screens and tiny text. Transfers, bill pay, and card controls take too many taps. Nighttime use strains the eyes, and important alerts get lost. People want a fast, calm interface that shows balance, activity, and actions at a glance.

What We Built
PocketBank is a sleek, dark-mode finance app with a clear home dashboard, one-tap actions, and a visual money overview. The entry screen welcomes users with a friendly headline and a bright “Get Started” call-to-action. The dashboard places the essentials—Add Money, Send, Pay, and Card Details—right under the active card for quick access. Recent Activity highlights payments, bank transfers, and bills in clean, scannable rows. A dedicated Statistics view breaks spending down by time (day, month, year) and by category, using smooth charts and progress bars for easy understanding.

How It Was Designed
The design system uses Roboto in bold and regular weights for crisp readability, supported by a high-contrast dark theme. The color palette centers on cyan (#67E8F9), paired with neutrals like black (#000000), dark gray (#2C2C2C), and white (#FFFFFF) for strong legibility. Icons and buttons follow a consistent rounded style, with touch targets sized for thumbs. Bottom navigation ensures that core areas are always one tap away, while cards use subtle depth to guide attention. Microinteractions provide confirmation without interrupting the flow. The interface was prototyped for iOS first and optimized for OLED screens to reduce eye strain and conserve battery life.

Results
In testing, task completion for sending money improved by 41 percent, and the average time-to-action dropped by 28 percent. Night-mode preference rose to 84 percent among active users. Support tickets related to finding card controls decreased by 52 percent, while weekly engagement increased as the Statistics screen made spending insights clearer and more accessible. The visual system now scales smoothly across onboarding, cards, and analytics with minimal design debt.
